Turning Water into Wine Story - Bible

Jesus, His mother Mary, and His disciples were invited to a wedding in the town of Cana. Weddings in those days were big celebrations that lasted for many days. Everyone would eat, drink, and be happy together.

During the celebration, something went wrong. They ran out of wine. This would have been very embarrassing for the bride and groom. It would make them look like bad hosts.

Jesus' mother Mary heard about the problem. She came to Jesus and said, 'They have no more wine.'

Jesus answered, 'Dear woman, why are you telling me this? My time has not yet come.'

But Mary knew that Jesus could help. She said to the servants, 'Do whatever He tells you to do.'

Near the entrance of the house stood six large stone water jars. Each jar could hold twenty to thirty gallons of water. These jars were used for the Jewish custom of ceremonial washing.

Jesus said to the servants, 'Fill the jars with water.' So they filled them all the way to the top.

Then Jesus told them, 'Now take some out and give it to the master of the feast.'

The servants took some of the liquid to the master of the feast. When he tasted it, the water had become wine! He did not know where the wine had come from, but the servants knew.

The master of the feast called the groom and said, 'Everyone serves the best wine first. After the guests have drunk too much, then they serve the cheaper wine. But you have saved the best wine until now!'

This was Jesus' first miraculous sign. He did it in Cana of Galilee. He showed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

Jesus did not want to show off. He did this miracle to help a family who was in trouble. He used His power to make people happy, not to make Himself look important.

Turning water into wine shows us that Jesus cares about our everyday problems. He cares about weddings, parties, and celebrations. He wants us to be happy. He can take ordinary things and make them extraordinary.

The servants had to obey Jesus before they saw the miracle. They filled the jars with water even though it seemed silly. When they obeyed, they got to see something amazing. When we obey Jesus, we get to see Him do wonderful things in our lives too.

The Turning Water into Wine story teaches compassion and divine power. It shows God’s ability to bring joy and abundance. This story highlights faith and celebration.
