The Prodigal Son Story - Bible
Send Wishes with Message Magic in Your Language.Jesus told a story about a man who had two sons. The younger son said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the family property now.' So the father divided his property between his two sons.
A few days later, the younger son packed up everything he owned. He went far away to another country. There, he wasted all his money on wild living. He spent everything he had on parties and bad choices.
After he had spent everything, a terrible famine came to that country. The son had no food and no money. He was very hungry. He went to work for a man who lived in that country. The man sent him out to feed pigs in the field. The son was so hungry that he wanted to eat the food the pigs were eating. But no one gave him anything.
Finally, the son realized how foolish he had been. He said to himself, 'My father's hired workers have plenty of food. They have more than they need. But here I am, dying of hunger. I will get up and go back to my father. I will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am not worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired workers.''
So the son got up and went to his father. While he was still far away, his father saw him. The father felt very sorry for his son. He ran to him. He threw his arms around him and kissed him.
The son said, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am not worthy to be called your son.'
But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a big feast and celebrate. My son was dead, but now he is alive again. He was lost, but now he is found!' So they began to celebrate.
The older son was out in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. He asked one of the servants, 'What is going on?'
The servant said, 'Your brother has come home. Your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.'
The older brother was angry. He would not go into the house. So his father went out and begged him to come in.
The older son said to his father, 'Look! All these years I have worked like a slave for you. I have always obeyed your commands. You never even gave me a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours comes home after wasting your money on prostitutes, you kill the fattened calf for him!'
The father said, 'My son, you are always with me. Everything I have is yours. But we have to celebrate and be glad. Your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found.'
This story shows how much God loves us. We are like the son who ran away from God and made bad choices. But when we come back to God and say we are sorry, He runs to us with open arms. He forgives us and welcomes us home. He celebrates because we were lost but now we are found. No matter how far we run away, God is always waiting for us to come home.
