Lots Wife Story - Bible

When the angels led Lot and his family out of Sodom, they gave them a very important warning. The angel said, 'Run for your lives! Don't look back! Don't stop anywhere in the plain! Run to the mountains, or you will be swept away!'

Lot and his family started running. They ran away from the evil city of Sodom. They knew that God was going to destroy the city with fire and burning sulfur because the people there were so wicked.

Lot's wife ran with him. She ran with her two daughters. They ran toward the small town of Zoar where the angel had said they would be safe.

But as they were running, Lot's wife made a terrible mistake. She looked back. She turned her head to see what was happening to the city of Sodom. She looked back at the place where she had lived. She looked back at her home and her friends.

The Bible does not tell us exactly why she looked back. Maybe she was curious. Maybe she was sad to leave her home. Maybe she did not fully obey the angel's command. But she looked back.

When she looked back, she turned into a pillar of salt. She became a statue of salt standing there in the plain.

Lot and his daughters kept running. They reached Zoar and were safe. But Lot's wife was gone. She had disobeyed God's command not to look back.

Jesus later talked about this story. He said, 'Remember Lot's wife!' He told people that when he comes back, they should not look back at their old lives. They should not be attached to the things of this world.

The story of Lot's wife teaches us to obey God completely. When God tells us to do something, we should do it without hesitating. We should not look back longingly at our old life of sin. We should keep our eyes forward, following God. We should trust that God knows what is best for us.

Lot's wife had been saved from the destruction. She was almost safe. But looking back cost her everything. We should learn from her mistake. When God calls us to follow him, we should follow with all our hearts and never look back.

The Lots Wife story teaches obedience and trust in God. It shows the danger of longing for what is forbidden. This story highlights vigilance and faith.
