John's Vision in Revelation Story - Bible
Send Wishes with Message Magic in Your Language.I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos. I was there because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit. I heard a loud voice behind me. It sounded like a trumpet. The voice said, 'Write on a scroll what you see. Send it to the seven churches.'
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. When I turned, I saw seven golden lampstands. Among the lampstands was someone like a son of man. He was dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet. A golden sash was around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow. His eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace. His voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars. Coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though I were dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said, 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One. I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! I hold the keys of death and Hades. Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.'
John saw a vision of Jesus in his glory. Jesus was not just a man. He was the King of kings. He was shining with glory. John was so afraid that he fell down as if he were dead. But Jesus touched him and said, 'Do not be afraid.'
John saw many other amazing things in his vision. He saw a throne in heaven. Someone was sitting on it. The one sitting there sparkled with gems. A rainbow glowed around the throne. Around the throne were twenty-four other thrones. On them sat twenty-four elders dressed in white. They wore crowns of gold on their heads. Lightning and thunder came from the throne. Seven lamps were blazing before the throne. They are the seven spirits of God.
In the center of the throne area was a Lamb. The Lamb looked as if it had been killed. It had seven horns and seven eyes. The Lamb came and took a scroll from the hand of the one on the throne. When he took it, the elders and the living creatures fell down before the Lamb. They sang a new song. They said, 'You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals. You were killed. With your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.'
John saw a great multitude that no one could count. They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes. They were holding palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.'
John saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had passed away. There was no longer any sea. He saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
A loud voice from the throne said, 'Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people. He will dwell with them. They will be his people. God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. The old order of things has passed away.'
The one on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'
Then he said, 'Write this down. These words are trustworthy and true.'
John saw that there was no temple in the new Jerusalem. The Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it. The glory of God gives it light. The Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light. The kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
Nothing impure will ever enter it. No one who does shameful things or tells lies will enter it. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life will enter.
The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' Let anyone who hears say, 'Come!' Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
Jesus said, 'Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me. I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the First and the Last. I am the Beginning and the End.'
Jesus also said, 'Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will have the right to the tree of life. They may go through the gates into the city.'
The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.' And let everyone who hears say, 'Come.' Let everyone who is thirsty come. Let everyone who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.
John saw the end of the story. Jesus wins. Evil is destroyed. God makes everything new. There will be no more tears, no more death, no more pain. God will live with his people forever. Everyone who trusts in Jesus will be there. They will see his glory. They will worship him forever. This is our hope. This is our future. Jesus is coming soon. We should be ready. We should tell others. We should live for him. He is worthy of all our praise.
