Isaiahs Vision Story - Bible
Send Wishes with Message Magic in Your Language. In the year that King Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the Lord. The Lord was sitting on a throne. The throne was high and exalted. The train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim. Each seraph had six wings. With two wings they covered their faces. With two wings they covered their feet. And with two wings they were flying. They were calling out to one another. They said, 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty. The whole earth is full of his glory.'
The sound of their voices made the doorposts and thresholds shake. The temple was filled with smoke.
Isaiah said, 'I am ruined. I am a man of unclean lips. I live among a people of unclean lips. My eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.'
One of the seraphim flew to Isaiah. The seraph had a live coal in his hand. He had taken the coal from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched Isaiah's mouth with the coal. He said, 'See, this has touched your lips. Your guilt is taken away. Your sin is atoned for.'
Then Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord. The Lord said, 'Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?'
Isaiah said, 'Here am I. Send me!'
The Lord said, 'Go. Tell this people, 'You will be always hearing but never understanding. You will be always seeing but never perceiving.' Make the heart of this people calloused. Make their ears dull. Close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes. They might hear with their ears. They might understand with their hearts. They might turn and be healed.'
Isaiah asked, 'For how long, Lord?'
The Lord answered, 'Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant. Until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged. Until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. Even if a tenth of the people remain in the land, it will be laid waste again. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.'
The Lord gave Isaiah many messages for the people of Judah. He told them that they would be punished for their sins. Enemies would conquer their land. The temple would be destroyed. The people would be taken away as captives. But God also gave them hope. He promised to send a Savior.
Isaiah saw a vision of the future. He saw a child who would be born. He said, 'For to us a child is born. To us a son is given. The government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.'
Isaiah also saw the suffering of the coming Savior. He wrote, 'He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him. And by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray. Each of us has turned to our own way. And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.'
Isaiah was a prophet who saw God's glory. He saw how holy God is. He saw his own sinfulness. But God cleansed him and sent him to speak God's words. Isaiah told the people about God's judgment and God's salvation. He pointed to Jesus, the suffering servant who would die for our sins. He pointed to the King who would rule forever. Isaiah's vision reminds us that God is holy. We are sinners. But God cleanses us and sends us to tell others about him.
