Baptism of Jesus Story - Bible
Send Wishes with Message Magic in Your Language.John the Baptist was a special prophet sent by God. He lived in the desert. He wore clothes made from camel's hair and ate locusts and wild honey. People came from all over to hear him preach.
John said, 'Repent, because the kingdom of heaven is coming soon!' He told people to turn away from their sins and be baptized in the Jordan River to show that they were sorry. Many people came to be baptized by John.
John told the people, 'Someone more powerful than me is coming after me. I am not good enough to untie His sandals. I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.'
One day, Jesus came from Nazareth to the Jordan River. He wanted John to baptize Him. But John tried to stop Him. John said, 'I need to be baptized by You. Why do You come to me?'
Jesus answered, 'Let it be this way for now. It is right for us to do this to follow all of God's rules.' So John agreed.
Jesus went down into the water. John baptized Him. As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, heaven opened. The Holy Spirit came down on Jesus like a dove. It landed on Him.
Then a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, the One I love. I am very pleased with Him.'
Everyone who was there saw and heard these amazing things. They knew that Jesus was no ordinary person. He was the Son of God.
John the Baptist had been telling everyone that the Messiah was coming. Now he saw with his own eyes that Jesus was the promised Savior. John pointed to Jesus and said, 'Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!'
Jesus did not need to be baptized because He had never sinned. He was perfect. But He was baptized to show us an example. He wanted to do everything God asked Him to do. His baptism was like a special ceremony that marked the beginning of His work on earth.
The voice from heaven was God the Father speaking. He said He was very pleased with His Son. The Holy Spirit came down like a dove. This showed that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit were all together at Jesus' baptism.
Jesus was ready to begin His ministry. He would heal sick people, make blind people see, teach about God's love, and finally die on the cross to save us from our sins. His baptism was the start of His amazing journey.
