Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He who died,
Heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! loves me still,
When I'm very weak and ill;
From His shining throne on high,
Comes to watch me where I lie.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He will stay,
Close beside me all the way;
He's prepared a home for me,
And some day His face I'll see.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

It was published in 1862 in a collection of her poems called "Hymns for the Little Ones".

Anna Bartlett Warner (February 28, 1827 – October 22, 1915) was an American writer of hymns and Sunday School books. She is best known for her work "Jesus Loves Me".

Warner wrote "Jesus Loves Me" with her sister Susan in 1860. Warner and her sister wrote many books and many hymns, along with poetry and works for children. Warner was born in Hinsdale, New York, and died in New York City. She was born in New York City and educated by her father, a lawyer.
