Jagjit Singh (8 February 1941 – 10 October 2011) was an Indian classical singer, composer, and musician. He is considered one of the most successful ghazal singers of all time. He sang in the Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi languages. He also sang some popular bhajans. His albums include some of the most popular ghazals such as Ek Taraf Uska Ghar and Tum Ko Dekha Toh Ye Khayal Aaya. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003 for his contribution to Indian music.
